French artist Simon Boudvin brought a narrative but also political depth to the architectural project of the new Museum of Folklore in Mouscron. His work on the façade consisted in inserting bricks recovered from the demolition sites of several industrial and domestic heritages in the surroundings, stressing the ambiguity of preservation of traditions and material culture. An integral part of the conceptual work, the book consists of a text in which the artist extensively describes the museum and its sources.
